Hotel Information

ARA will arrange and pay for your reservations for Thursday and Friday. You will simply need to provide a credit card at check-in for any incidentals. Requests for an extended stay must be coordinated ahead of time by contacting the association.

About the Area

There is a shuttle service that includes drop off and pick-up services to and from the Loews Chicago O’Hare Hotel and O’Hare Airport.

The COMPLIMENTARY Loews Chicago O’Hare shuttle bus service runs daily: EVERY 15 MINUTES on the hour. Shuttle will pick up all arriving guests at the Bus/Shuttle Center and drop off all departing guests at departures by airline.


  • The Bus/Shuttle Center is centrally located between Terminals 1, 2, and 3
  • Once you reach the baggage claim area (lower level) there are overhead red signs “Bus/Shuttle Center”.
  • Follow the direction which will lead you to the underground pedestrian walkway
  • Take the elevator centers 3 & 4
  • Select 1st level (P1 or Cubs button)
  • At the Bus/Shuttle Center please wait between doors 1 and 2

Travel Information

Your travel plans should allow for your participation in the entire conference. If you need to make alternative arrangements, please contact the association.

Please book your flight before Thursday, September 28 by contacting Complete Travel Experts at 309.388.2414 weekdays between 7:30 am and 4 pm Central time. ARA will handle the payment for your flights and secure your hotel room. You will receive a confirmation email the beginning of November, which will include your hotel arrangements.

Recommended arrival:
Thursday, Nov. 16 before 4:00 pm
Registration starts at 5:00 pm
The conference begins at 6:00 pm

Recommended departure:
Saturday, Nov. 18 after 1 pm. The conference will conclude by 11:00 am. You will want to arrive at the airport at least two hours prior to your scheduled flight departure to allow plenty of time for security procedures.

Reminder for those arriving by car:
Attendees who prefer to travel by car need to record the mileage. ARA will reimburse an amount equal to that of the lowest airfare or in accordance with the current IRS allowable amount, whichever is less.

An expense report must be submitted within 10 working days following the conference.

Your participation in the entire conference is expected. ARA requests that you do not bring a guest.

  • 6:00 – 7:00 pm – Welcome Session Innovation Magic: Discovering What’s Possible
    • Learn how a magician starts with an impossible goal and works backwards to innovate solutions. Professional magician, comedian, author, and motivational speaker Mark Robinson reveals this, along with audience interactive examples of how easily we are distracted from what we should be focused on. Learn how important the “little things” are to someone’s impression of your company, and how to create “wow” moments for others.

Friday, November 17th

      • What separates top performers from everyone else is their mindset. Most people are so busy figuring out how to get by that they miss out on opportunities to get ahead. While we all have potential, converting that into performance requires shifting your mindset. In this program, we explore the strategies to unlock your potential, perform at a higher level, and add more value in the process.
      • In this session, you will learn:
      • The 3 elements that create peak performance
      • How to move from your comfort zone to your growth zone
      • How to turn failure into your ally
      • How to get the feedback you need to grow
    • 10:30 am – 12:00 pm – Be the One
      • We all have someone who made a significant impact on our careers; the mentor who challenged the way we see ourselves and how we show up in the world. As a result, they become “the one” for us. Our ability to be the one for others doesn’t happen by chance; it is a result of a specific mindset and set of behaviors. Based on a national research study of over 1,000 professionals conducted during the Great Resignation, this interactive program reveals a practical process to unlock the potential in others. You will be challenged to rethink your role as leaders, change how you interact with your team members, and learn how to create a culture that people never want to leave.
    • In this session, you will:
      • Identify the 5 traits of great mentors and assess how you measure up
      • Learn the key differences that separate leaders from mentors
      • Discover the 3-step process to empower your team members to perform at their best
      • Explore the barriers to mentorship and how to overcome them
  • 12:00 – 1:00 pm – Lunch
  • 1:00 – 1:45 pm – Group photos
  • 1:45 – 2:45 pm – Leadership Loyalty
    • What do you remember about the leaders that earned your loyalty? Chances are, you remember the way they made you feel. These leaders learned how to leverage the power of their example, created a culture of appreciation, and developed new leaders on their teams. Their communication approach changed from telling their employees what to do to coaching them. In this interactive program, we uncover the strategies for you to become the leader that people want to follow and never want to leave.
    • In this session, you will learn:
      • The 4-step process for developing new leaders
      • The critical skill that most leaders overlook and how you can apply it to increase engagement and retention
      • Why employees quit their job and how you can get them to stay
      • How to resolve problems in a way that promotes trust
    • 3:15 – 4:30 pm – ARA Update
      • Did you know that from concept to completion, ARA members are an integral part of ARA products and services? Representatives from the various committees will provide insight into their processes for recommending ARA resources to the National Board of Directors, who vote on the recommendation and, if approved, assign a budget to the project. Attendees will gain an understanding of what “member-driven” means and how members can participate in the process.

Saturday, November 18th

  • 8:30 – 9:45 am – Breakfast and ARA Foundation Community Hands-on IMPACT Project
  • 10:00 – 10:45 am – Leadership Panel
    • Continued professional development is critical to your success as a leader in your business and as a chapter board member. During this session, your industry peers will share the experiences, advice, and resources that significantly influenced their leadership growth.
  • 10:45 am – Closing
